Change What You Eat To Improve Your Sleep

Posted on Jan 31, 2012
Are you frequently tired? Is it difficult for you to fall asleep at night? Do you toss and turn or get up frequently? If any of those questions describe you, you could have a food intolerance. A food intolerance is an often delayed negative reaction to a food, beverage or food additive. Food intolerance symptoms range from skin conditions such as rashes, dermatitis and eczema to respiratory issues like nasal congestion and coughing. Abdominal cramps, nausea, irritable bowel syndrome, gas and many other issues can also be food intolerance symptoms. Food intolerances can also exacerbate chronic fatigue symptoms.

It can be difficult to function when you`re feeling tired. Basic tasks become more difficult and complicated tasks become nearly impossible. It`s easy to lose focus, it`s tough to stay alert and it`s depressing when you can`t do all of the things you`d like to do.

If you have difficulty falling asleep, if you have a restless sleep each night or if you feel tired each day despite getting enough sleep, you may have an undiagnosed food intolerance that is giving you problems.

Food intolerance symptoms are different in each person. While some people feel perfectly fine eating certain foods, others get terrible cramps or painful headaches. Others still have less obvious symptoms like difficultly sleeping and trouble concentrating. Food intolerances make your body less efficient. When you try to eat foods that you have intolerances to, you may not be able to properly absorb them, which means you won`t be getting all of the nutrients and minerals that you need to feel optimal. When you eat foods that you have an intolerance to, your body also spends energy trying to cope with these foods rather than using that energy for other tasks. The result is fatigue.

You may think that you`re getting a full eight hours of sleep each night, but are you really getting the kind of quality sleep that you need? Body soreness, headaches or joint pain (all food intolerance symptoms) can cause you to have a restless sleep each night. This means that you won`t get to rest and recuperate for the next day. If this happens on a regular basis, you`ll end up feeling tired all the time.

Due to the delayed symptoms, food intolerances have been traditionally difficult to pinpoint. However, that is no longer the case.  The Hemocode System identifies specific food intolerances and delivers relief. Please contact us for more information. The Hemocode System is also available at Rexall and Rexall Pharma Plus locations.

Thanks for the question. Results usually take 7-10 business days.

Hi, I am going to get a Hemocode test done tomorrow. Once the blood sample has been taken and sent out, how long does it take for the results to arrive? Thank you. Peter
